JEDDAH, March 8 (Alliance News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has urged the Muslim world to firmly oppose any attempt to forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, calling it “ethnic cleansing and a war crime” under international law.
Speaking at the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ Extraordinary Session, he stressed that no external force has the right to dictate the future of the Palestinian people.
Dar presented Pakistan’s urgent recommendations, including a full ceasefire, Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, unrestricted humanitarian access, and a comprehensive reconstruction plan.
He also called for an end to Israeli aggression in the West Bank, highlighting the destruction of refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarem, Nur al-Shams, and El Far’a.
Emphasizing the need for humanitarian relief, he insisted that the UNRWA must be allowed to operate without obstruction and condemned Israel’s targeting of aid agencies as a violation of international law.
He declared that forced displacement of Palestinians is a red line and must be collectively blocked by the OIC.
The Deputy PM/FM reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for a two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
He urged the OIC to push for full UN membership for Palestine and called on the international community to hold Israel accountable through trade restrictions, diplomatic pressure, and legal action at the International Court of Justice.
Dar welcomed the Gaza Reconstruction Plan by Egypt and highlighted its pan-Islamic solidarity, ensuring Palestinians play a key role in rebuilding their homeland.
He also strongly condemned Israel’s blocking of humanitarian aid during Ramadan, calling it a war crime and warning that Israel’s military actions in the West Bank amounted to “ethnic cleansing in real time.”
Rejecting an Israeli proposal to establish a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia, Dar called it an insult to the Muslim world and reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
He also expressed Pakistan’s commitment to a Syrian-led peace process.
