Pakistan Achieves Landmark Foreign Policy Success Under PM Shehbaz Sharif: Attaullah Tarar

ISLAMABAD, Oct 04 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, lauded Pakistan’s significant foreign policy achievements under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He highlighted that Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Pakistan led to multiple agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing trade and cooperation between the two nations.

During a press conference, Tarar emphasized the strengthening of brotherly relations with Malaysia, particularly in trade and investment.

He noted that Halal meat and rice exports from Pakistan to Malaysia will increase, with 100,000 tons of rice set for export initially.

Additionally, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed Malaysia’s support for Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue, calling for the implementation of UN resolutions.

Tarar expressed optimism about the country’s economic progress, citing the recognition of Pakistan’s improving economy by international leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He stated that the government’s focus on promoting trade is bearing fruit, positioning Pakistan as a key player in the global market.

He also mentioned Pakistan’s upcoming hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, with 12 heads of government expected to attend.

The event is seen as an important milestone in Pakistan’s foreign policy and global standing.

The minister praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly, where he effectively raised issues concerning Palestine, Kashmir, climate change, and terrorism.

Tarar also noted that the recent agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) during the UN session will further boost the economy.

Highlighting government reforms, Tarar pointed out the digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the doubling of tax filers as a result of the government’s efforts. He also praised Pakistan’s stock exchange performance, with Bloomberg recognizing it as the most emerging market in Asia.

Tarar took the opportunity to criticize the opposition, particularly the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for disrupting foreign relations and internal progress.

He urged the opposition to protest within the Parliament instead of resorting to street protests, which could damage the country’s international image during significant events like the SCO summit.

He also called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to address price controls and improve law and order in his province, rather than focusing on protests.
