Pakistan Learns from China’s Coastal Cities on Sustainable Urban Development

BEIJING, Dec 2 (Alliance News): Pakistan has gained significant insights from the sustainable development models of China’s coastal cities, including Shenzhen, Wenzhou, and Hangzhou, according to Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue.

Speaking during his visit to China, Mandviwalla highlighted how these cities have revolutionized food governance by adopting green technologies and sustainable urban planning.

He noted that these efforts not only enhance regional cooperation but also improve food access and nutrition.

Mandviwalla emphasized the strategic importance of cities along the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in addressing global challenges.

“These city centers create urban environments that are resilient, inclusive, and sustainable, which is vital for optimizing urban development models,” he remarked.

The lessons drawn from China’s approach are expected to help Pakistan refine its urban strategies and promote sustainable growth.
