Pakistan Successfully Test-Fires Abdali Missile During Exercise INDUS

RAWALPINDI, 3 May (Alliance News): Pakistan on Saturday successfully conducted a training launch of the Abdali surface-to-surface missile, which has a range of 450 kilometres, the military’s media wing announced.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the launch was part of Exercise INDUS and aimed at validating key technical parameters, including the missile’s advanced navigation and enhanced manoeuvrability features. The exercise also sought to ensure the operational readiness of the troops.

The training launch was witnessed by the Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, senior officials from the Strategic Plans Division and Army Strategic Forces Command, as well as scientists and engineers from Pakistan’s strategic organisations.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the services chiefs congratulated all involved in the successful test.

They reaffirmed full confidence in the strategic forces’ operational capabilities and technical expertise to maintain credible minimum deterrence and safeguard national security.

The launch comes amid heightened tensions with India, following the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. India has blamed Pakistan for the incident without evidence, a claim Islamabad has strongly rejected.
