NEW YORK, March 10 (Alliance News): Muslims across the United States are celebrating Ramadan by organizing iftars to strengthen community bonds, support charitable causes, and promote interfaith dialogue.
On Sunday, the Pakistani community in New York hosted two Ramadan events, attended by Pakistan’s Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai. At an iftar dinner organized by the City Council and Pakistani leadership of Nassau County, Long Island, Atozai emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a time of spiritual renewal, generosity, and unity.
He also distributed citations recognizing Pakistanis for their selfless community services.
The event brought together a diverse gathering of Pakistani-Americans and South Asian community members, promoting unity and reflection during the holy month.
Nassau County’s Chief Executive, Bruce Blackman, also attended, underscoring U.S. support for cultural and interfaith harmony.
Later, Atozai participated in the Muslim Lights Halal Suhoor Festival, an event celebrating Pakistani, Arab, and South Asian heritage.
The festival featured food stalls, ethnic attire displays, and cultural exhibits, creating an inclusive and festive atmosphere.
The events highlighted the spirit of Ramadan, fostering cultural appreciation and strengthening community ties in New York’s diverse Muslim population.
