ISLAMABAD, March 17 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed that Pakistan’s skilled IT workforce has the potential to compete in the global market, as the government provides necessary facilities to achieve the target of $25 billion in IT exports.
Speaking during a meeting with Jerome Kapelus, CEO of Afiniti, the prime minister welcomed the American multinational IT company’s interest in expanding investment in Pakistan’s IT sector.
He suggested that Afiniti Pakistan establish a world-class call center to serve both national and international clients.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that he is personally overseeing programs to equip Pakistan’s youth with skills in IT, AI, and other advanced technologies. Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja and senior officials were also present at the meeting.
Jerome Kapelus praised Pakistan’s IT professionals, highlighting their dedication and expertise. He noted that Pakistan offers a highly favorable environment for investment and business, with over 1,000 skilled professionals currently working at Afiniti Pakistan.
He added that the company’s success in the region is largely due to Pakistan’s talented workforce.
