PM Advocates for Palestine and Kashmir in Historic UNGA Speech, Says Attaullah Tarar

ISLAMABAD, Oct 2 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s impactful speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), emphasizing his strong advocacy for Palestinian and Kashmiri causes.

During a press conference, Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif effectively presented the case for Palestine and Kashmir at the UNGA, reinforcing Pakistan’s role as a leader of the Muslim Ummah.

The minister emphasized that the PM’s speech was widely appreciated globally, marking a significant moment for Pakistan.

Tarar noted that the PM’s meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the UNGA session proved fruitful, further strengthening Pakistan’s position internationally.

He also emphasized that Pakistan’s foreign policy has been a success, particularly in its efforts to support Palestine and Kashmir at global forums.

PM Shehbaz’s vocal opposition to Israeli aggression in Gaza, his condemnation of war crimes, and his call for justice resonated with many world leaders.

The PM also addressed India’s ongoing human rights violations in Kashmir, highlighting the plight of the Kashmiri people under the Hindutva regime and urging action against its atrocities.

Tarar also pointed out that the Prime Minister led a boycott of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech, a move followed by other countries, symbolizing solidarity with Palestine.

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas appreciated Pakistan’s continued support and termed PM Shehbaz a brother.

In addition to political advocacy, Tarar shared that Pakistan’s economy was gaining international recognition, with the IMF, World Bank, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praising Pakistan’s economic growth.

Tarar highlighted that inflation had decreased significantly, reaching 6.9% as of September, and investment opportunities were growing.

The minister also assured the public that fuel prices had been reduced for the fifth consecutive time, reflecting the government’s commitment to passing on international price decreases to the public.
