ISLAMABAD, Apr 18 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism, declaring that the fight against the country’s enemies would not stop until a decisive victory is achieved.

“Our jihad to uproot terrorism will continue. We will deal such a blow to the terrorists that they will never dare to look at Pakistan with ill intent again,” the prime minister said while chairing a high-level meeting on law and order in Islamabad.

He praised the efforts of security forces and institutions nationwide, lauding their sacrifices and urging all stakeholders to set aside differences and unite against the menace of terrorism.

Shehbaz Sharif directed authorities to accelerate the implementation of Safe City projects across major urban centers and commended the collaboration between federal and provincial governments in promoting a unified counter-terrorism narrative.

The prime minister also ordered intensified efforts against smuggling and human trafficking, directing law enforcement agencies to bring traffickers to justice and restrict the overseas travel of organized begging mafias.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to remove illegal encroachments around cities and noted that digital enforcement stations are being set up on national highways to counter smuggling. Islamabad has also established its own Forensic Science Agency, while Punjab’s facility is being upgraded.

The meeting was attended by senior federal ministers, provincial officials, and police chiefs from across the country, including Azam Nazeer Tarar, Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Ahad Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Rana Sanaullah, Talal Chaudhry, and representatives from GB and AJK.
