PM Shehbaz Welcomes World Bank’s $20 Billion Pledge for Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 15 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude for the World Bank’s historic $20 billion pledge under its first-ever 10-year Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Pakistan.

In a post on his X timeline, the prime minister highlighted that the CPF focuses on six key areas: child nutrition, quality education, clean energy, climate resilience, inclusive development, and private investment.

He noted that the CPF aligns with Pakistan’s national priorities as outlined in its Home Grown Economic Transformation Plan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz commended the efforts of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and other officials for their dedication to fostering partnerships crucial to Pakistan’s development.

“This CPF reflects the World Bank’s confidence in Pakistan’s economic resilience and potential. We look forward to deepening our collaboration to create sustainable opportunities for our people,” he stated.
