LISBON, Feb 10 (Alliance News): President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Lisbon on Monday to offer condolences to Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini on the passing of his father, Prince Karim Aga Khan.
Expressing sympathies on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, President Zardari described the late Aga Khan as a “true friend” and “great philanthropist.”
He highlighted his contributions to Pakistan’s social and economic development, particularly in healthcare, education, community development, and poverty alleviation.
Recalling his personal connection with the late Aga Khan, President Zardari praised his visionary leadership and its impact on Pakistan and beyond.
He mentioned that he was on an official visit to China when he learned of Aga Khan’s passing and felt it was essential to visit Lisbon to pay his respects.
The president expressed hope that Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini would continue his father’s mission of serving humanity.
