Serena and Convention Centre Interchange Project Brings Promises of Smoother Traffic in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Dec 5 (Alliance News): Residents of the federal capital can expect significant improvements in traffic flow as construction on the Serena Chowk and Convention Centre Chowk Interchange progresses.

This project aims to alleviate congestion in key areas of Islamabad and is moving forward with notable developments.

A CDA official reported ongoing work on Suhrawardy Road, where piling and concrete work are being carried out to establish a solid foundation for the project.

Efforts to widen roads and enhance the sub-grade structure along Kashmir Highway are also underway to better handle rising traffic volumes and ensure more seamless movement.

The official noted that essential infrastructure components, such as box culverts and retaining walls, are being built as part of the project.

Additionally, the girder yard, a critical part of the interchange, is nearly ready, with completed girders prepared for installation.

Residents have been reassured that the project is on track, with expectations for it to transform Islamabad’s traffic system.

With the dedication of engineers and workers, the Serena Chowk Interchange is set to reduce delays and upgrade the city’s infrastructure.
