ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (Alliance News): Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, called on TikTok to utilize its platform for educational purposes, emphasizing the potential for teaching various skills and providing basic education.
During a meeting with a TikTok delegation led by its Director of Public Policy, Mr. Emir Gelen, Khawaja expressed the Ministry’s full support in helping TikTok achieve this goal. The discussion also focused on the importance of quality and productive content on social media platforms.
Secretary of IT, Zarrar Hasham Khan, was also present at the meeting. The TikTok delegation briefed the Minister on the platform’s initiatives in Pakistan and upcoming programs.
TikTok representatives assured Khawaja that they would prioritize the creation and promotion of meaningful, educational content in the country.
They also expressed interest in collaborating with the Ministry of IT & Telecom to further these efforts.
