Shehbaz Sharif’s Cabinet Meeting Postponed Again Amid Talks on Constitutional Amendment

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (Alliance News): The federal cabinet meeting has been postponed after being delayed twice.

Originally scheduled for Friday night, the meeting was rescheduled to 10 AM on Saturday but was later shifted to 12 PM and then 2 PM. Despite these changes, the meeting still did not take place and has been adjourned.

According to media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to arrive at the Parliament House soon to attend a luncheon.

There is speculation that the cabinet might approve the draft of the constitutional amendment during their meeting.

Meanwhile, the Senate meeting, initially set for 11 AM, has been delayed to 12:30 PM, and the National Assembly is now scheduled to meet at 3 PM.

In a related development, a meeting between Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Jamiat Ulema Islam (F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman did not result in a consensus on the proposed constitutional amendments.

Bilawal, accompanied by Naveed Qamar and Murtaza Wahab, visited Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence late at night for discussions.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and senior PPP leader Naveed Qamar also met with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, followed by a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) delegation consisting of Barrister Gohar, Hamid Khan, and Barrister Ali Zafar.
