ISLAMABAD, May 08 (Alliance News): Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Thursday revealed that Pakistan’s armed forces, maintaining a high state of alert, successfully neutralised 12 Indian Harop drones launched across various locations in what he termed a “blatant act of military aggression.”
Addressing a press conference, the DG ISPR said the drone attacks were carried out by India during the night of May 7 and 8, targeting several sites in Pakistan, including Lahore, Attock, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Miano, Chor, and near Karachi.
He displayed the debris of the neutralised drones and confirmed that a 13th drone managed to partially strike a military target near Lahore, injuring four Pakistan Army personnel and causing limited equipment damage.
In another incident in Miano, Sindh, one civilian embraced martyrdom and another was injured due to drone fire.
“This naked aggression continues, and the armed forces remain on the highest level of alert, neutralising such threats promptly,” Lt Gen Chaudhry stated. He condemned India’s earlier provocations on May 6 and 7, when civilian areas and places of worship were attacked, resulting in the deaths of innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.
He further noted that India suffered significant losses along the Line of Control (LoC), including the destruction of five aircraft and heavy casualties. “India has apparently lost the plot and is escalating tensions in an already fragile region to serve its domestic political objectives,” he said.
Calling upon the international community, the DG ISPR warned that India’s reckless actions pose a threat not only to regional stability but also to broader global peace and security.
“There should be no doubt—India is paying dearly and will continue to pay dearly for this naked aggression,” he concluded.
