KARACHI, March 21 (Alliance News): Federal Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal has assured the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) that federal funds for development projects in Karachi and Hyderabad will be released soon, following concerns raised by the party.
During a virtual meeting with MQM-P leaders, the minister addressed delays in funding for uplift projects in Sindh’s two major cities.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Aminul Haq, Javed Hanif, and Khawaja Izharul Hassan, along with officials from relevant government departments.
The reassurance comes after MQM-P expressed dissatisfaction with the coalition government and hinted at reconsidering its position due to unmet development commitments.
MQM-P MNA Aminul Haq had earlier complained that the federal government was not fulfilling its promises and suggested the party might consider sitting on the opposition benches in protest.
The meeting discussed the release of funds and MQM-P’s concerns, signaling efforts to prevent political rifts within the ruling alliance.
