Army Chief Praises KP Chief Minister Gandapur for Cooperation on National Issues

ISLAMABAD, Nov 22 (Alliance News): Army Chief General Asim Munir commended Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for his cooperation on matters of national importance during a recent Apex Committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A participant of the meeting revealed that the army chief appreciated Gandapur’s support on critical issues, including security and matters related to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

A source close to Gandapur confirmed this acknowledgment and highlighted the chief minister’s active role in addressing national challenges.

During the meeting, Gandapur also advocated for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned for over a year without conviction. He compared the situation to the relief granted to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif, who was allowed to leave for medical treatment during Imran Khan’s government, despite being a convict.

Gandapur also referenced the leniency shown to Maryam Nawaz during the same period, despite her subsequent protests against the government.

The chief minister raised concerns about the alleged persecution of PTI leaders and workers, highlighting restrictions on political meetings, rallies, and marches in Punjab.

He stressed that PTI is being denied its democratic rights, describing Imran Khan as the leader of millions who deserve justice and freedom of expression.
