Balochistan CM Orders Crackdown on Anti-State Activities Amid Security Concerns

QUETTA, March 25 (Alliance News): Amid the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has ordered strict action against government employees involved in anti-state activities and propaganda.

Chairing a high-level meeting, CM Bugti directed commissioners and district officers to identify and take legal action against such employees. The move follows a recent wave of terrorist attacks, including the targeted killing of four labourers and four police officers in Kalat and Nushki.

Last week, terrorists from the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked the Jaffar Express, blowing up a railway track and taking over 440 passengers hostage. Security forces conducted a complex clearance operation, rescuing the passengers and neutralizing 33 attackers. However, 26 passengers, including 18 security personnel, were killed.

Additionally, protests led by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) have escalated tensions. Several BYC leaders, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, have been named in an FIR under anti-terrorism laws, facing charges of murder, incitement to violence, and promoting racial hatred. Mahrang and 17 others are currently detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance.

CM Bugti emphasized that no government employee should criticize state policies while drawing a salary from the government. He also warned that anti-state activities will not be tolerated, and individuals involved will be placed under strict surveillance.

He announced that hoisting the national flag and playing the national anthem would be mandatory in all educational institutions across Balochistan, warning of resignations for non-compliance. He urged the youth to focus on education and development, rejecting misguided calls to violence.
