ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (Alliance News): The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has firmly rejected claims made in an article published by The Guardian, which allegedly quoted remarks from a Chinese diplomat regarding Gwadar Port.
The embassy termed the report as entirely baseless, emphasizing that the allegations lack credibility and are inconsistent with China’s position.
In a detailed statement, the embassy criticized the journalist responsible for fabricating information without prior consent, calling the act a violation of professional ethics and respect for shared understanding.
The spokesperson underlined China’s unwavering commitment to the development of Gwadar and Balochistan, highlighting several milestones achieved through the joint efforts of both nations.
These developments include disaster relief assistance, infrastructure projects, and community engagement initiatives.
The spokesperson specifically mentioned projects such as the Gwadar China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital, a desalination plant, and the newly completed Gwadar International Airport.
Additionally, support for students in the region was underscored, with the announcement of Chinese Ambassador Scholarships for universities in Balochistan.
Reiterating China’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of local communities, the embassy expressed confidence in the positive impact of collaborative projects between the two countries.
It hoped that such initiatives would continue to foster practical cooperation and bring tangible benefits to the people of Balochistan.
