RAWALPINDI, Oct 30 (Alliance News): During his official visit to Azerbaijan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met with key Azerbaijani leaders, including President Ilham Aliyev and Minister of Defence Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgar.
The visit included discussions with Foreign Minister Jeyhun Aziz Oghlu Bayramov, 1st Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff Colonel General Karim Tofig Oghlu Valiyev, and Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev.
Both sides acknowledged the deep-rooted and historic relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the significance of military cooperation in light of the evolving security dynamics in the region.
General Mirza reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing defense ties across various domains, highlighting the mutual benefits of such cooperation.
Azerbaijani leaders expressed appreciation for the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces, noting a shared vision to deepen cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration between the two nations.
The meetings reflect a collective commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region through strengthened defense partnerships.
