Cultural Diplomacy Can Deepen Pakistan-Saudi Ties: Ambassador Ahmad Farooq at Riyadh Book Fair

RIYADH, Oct 02 (Alliance News): Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, emphasized the potential of cultural diplomacy to strengthen ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia during a panel discussion at the Riyadh Book Fair.

Ambassador Ahmad Farooq participated in a panel discussion titled “Shared Voices: Literature and Art as Bridges of Culture and Understanding”, held at the annual Riyadh Book Fair, attended by Saudi youth, literature enthusiasts, and members of civic society.

The panel, featuring prominent figures such as Suljuk Tarar, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, and Ameena Seyyid, Founder Director of Adab Festival, highlighted the role of cultural diplomacy in enhancing the historical ties between the two nations.

Ambassador Farooq underscored the shared cultural, historical, and religious values between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, suggesting that these affinities could pave the way for deeper bilateral relations.

He noted that the Pakistan Embassy was actively engaging with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, collaborating on numerous cultural projects.

Ambassador Suljuk Tarar stressed the importance of literature in fostering understanding and unity between nations, advocating for more quality translations of literature in Arabic and Urdu.

Ameena Seyyid echoed the sentiment, emphasizing how literature and art can break stereotypes and transcend geographical boundaries.
