ECP Sets August 26 Deadline for Postal Ballot Applications for NA-171 Bye-Election”

ISLAMABAD, Aug 20 (Alliance News): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that August 26 is the final date to submit applications for postal ballot papers for the upcoming bye-election in NA-171 R.Y. Khan-III.

Postal voting is available for government employees, armed forces members, their spouses, and children registered as voters who are stationed away from their constituency. It is also offered to individuals with physical disabilities who hold a National Identity Card with a disability logo issued by NADRA, and to those detained in prison or custody.

Additionally, election-related personnel, including police assigned to duties at polling stations other than their own, should apply for postal ballots within three days of their appointment.

Applications must be submitted on the prescribed form to the Returning Officer of the constituency. Forms can be obtained from Mr. Waqas Zafar, Assistant Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan, at Contact No. 068-9230271, or downloaded from the ECP’s website, www.ecp.gov.pk.

Voters who receive postal ballots will not be able to vote in person at polling stations. Applications should be endorsed by the voter’s office or department to prevent unauthorized requests for postal ballots.
