ISLAMABAD, Oct 8(Alliance News): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting the country from future disasters during a statement on the 19th National Resilience Day.

This day commemorates the devastating earthquake of October 8, 2005, which claimed thousands of lives.

Expressing sympathy for the families affected, Muqam praised the courage of the Pakistani people during the tragedy and lauded national institutions for their exemplary role in reconstruction efforts.

He also acknowledged the support of the international community in the aftermath of the disaster.
