ISLAMABAD, Aug 23 (Alliance News): Funeral prayers were held at Yazd airport on Friday for 28 Pakistani pilgrims who tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Iran’s Yazd province earlier this week.
The prayers were attended by Iranian officials, including Ayatullah Naseri, Governor Yazd Mehran Fatemi, and Deputy Governor Yazd Abdul Husseni, alongside Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu and embassy staff.
Following the direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, a special aircraft has been dispatched to Yazd airport to repatriate the deceased and the 16 injured individuals who have been discharged from the hospital.
The bodies and the injured will be transported to Jacobabad via this special flight.
The Foreign Office has released the names of the deceased, which include Kashif Ali, Habibullah Soomro, Wafa Abbas Javed, Zaheer Abbas Memon, and many others.
The list also includes several women and children, reflecting the tragic scale of the accident.
