The event gathered journalists, diplomats, and community members for an open dialogue about the current media landscape. Both countries’ representatives stressed that a free press is essential for strengthening democracy and fostering informed societies.

This is why we offer journalists from all over the world additional training courses with the DW Academy, both in Germany and online.”

Hajo Provó Kluit, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Netherlands Embassy, added, “The Netherlands supports a three-year project by NGO Free Press Unlimited to help rural journalists in Pakistan enhance their role as accountability advocates.”
