Government Condemns Threats Against Chief Justice, Vows Legal Action

ISLAMABAD, Jul 29 (Alliance News) – On Monday, the government strongly condemned threats against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa by a certain group and announced legal action to uphold the rule of law.

“The law will take its course against those behind the baseless propaganda campaign against the CJP,” said Defence Minister Khawaja Asif during a press conference with Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal.

Asif condemned attempts to incite violence for political gain. He emphasized that belief in the finality of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is a core part of faith, and noted that the Supreme Court has already clarified its stance on the matter.

He highlighted that CJP Qazi Faez Isa has been targeted for years and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting an independent judiciary. He asserted that the rule of law must prevail, and no group or individual should dictate otherwise.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal also denounced the threats against the Chief Justice, calling them acts of sedition against the constitution and religious values. He stressed the importance of unity and reaffirmed that only courts have the authority to deliver justice.

Iqbal stated that the government will take legal action to prevent such incidents in the future and noted that the Pakistan Ulema has jointly condemned the threats. He called for unity and warned against actions that could create anarchy in society.
