ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (Alliance News) – Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bringing economic stability to Pakistan on Wednesday.
Speaking in an interview with a private television channel, Iqbal highlighted progress in the stock exchange and a gradual decline in the inflation index as signs of the country’s economic recovery.
Iqbal noted that international rating agencies have acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to improve the economy.
He also discussed the introduction of military courts to prosecute individuals involved in attacks on security institutions, specifically referencing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.
The minister criticized PTI for spreading negative propaganda against national institutions, especially through social media, and blamed the party’s weak policies during its tenure for damaging the economy.
He praised the efforts of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, in collaboration with coalition partners, for stabilizing the country’s economy and emphasized that the government is focused on providing relief to the poor.
