HEC Warns Public Against Fake Degree Verification Scams

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (Alliance News): The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has issued a warning regarding scam calls from imposters falsely claiming affiliation with the HEC to extract personal information for degree attestation or re-verification.

According to HEC officials, some individuals are posing as “HEC Attestation Agents” and demanding high fees for degree verification, far exceeding HEC’s standard charges.

These fraudsters also operate fake social media pages offering degree verification services.

HEC clarified that it does not employ or authorize any agents for degree attestation and does not make direct calls to individuals regarding its services.

The public is advised to access legitimate attestation services only through HEC’s official portals at eservices.hec.gov.pk or www.hec.gov.pk.

The public is urged to avoid responding to such fraudulent contacts. Scam calls can be reported to telecom operators or registered on the PTA website at www.pta.gov.pk or via the toll-free number 0800-55055.
