“Interior Minister Briefed on FIA’s Investigation into Overbilling of Protected Consumers”

ISLAMABAD, July 8 (Alliance News): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) briefed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on the issue of overbilling in response to his notice.

The minister had expressed concern over protected users being incorrectly categorized and requested data on distribution companies (Discos) providing relief to protected consumers.

He instructed FIA directors to investigate, collect evidence, and submit a comprehensive report to the Prime Minister within three days.

Naqvi ordered the Additional DG FIA North to visit Gujranwala and Faisalabad to assess the situation and collect data.

He emphasized the need to address the abuse of protected users and identify responsible individuals through a thorough examination of evidence.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Interior, Additional DG FIA HQ, Additional Home Secretary, and all FIA directors via video link.
