ISLAMABAD, Aug 01 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi conducted a detailed and unannounced inspection of ongoing development projects in Islamabad on Thursday night.
During his four-hour visit, Minister Naqvi reviewed three major projects: the Islamabad Expressway, Park Road, and the Jinnah Convention Center. He was briefed by Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa on the progress of these projects.
Minister Naqvi inspected the 7 km stretch of the Islamabad Expressway and the ongoing construction work on Bhinder Bridge. He directed that the section of the Expressway from PWD Chowk to T-Chowk be completed within two months and called for a plan to convert the Expressway into a controlled corridor.
Officials from the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) briefed the minister on the development work. During his visit, the Interior Minister planted a sapling in the lawn of the FWO’s camp office.
Later, Naqvi reviewed the 7.2 km Park Road widening project, directing its completion before September this year. He also requested a plan to divert traffic to alternative routes during the construction. He instructed the DIG Operations and SSP Traffic to visit the project site and develop a feasible traffic management plan.
The Interior Minister also inspected the ongoing upgrades at the Jinnah Convention Center, visiting various sections to review the progress.
