ISLAMABAD, Aug 23 (Alliance News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has vowed to take decisive action against the assailants responsible for the killing of 12 police personnel in the Kacha area of Rahim Yar Khan.
During a high-level meeting at Rahim Yar Khan Airport on Friday, Naqvi emphasized the importance of enhanced security measures and directed authorities to equip operational forces with modern weapons and safety gear.
Describing the incident as a “sad tragedy,” Naqvi urged for all necessary steps to prevent such occurrences in the future.
He ordered a coordinated operation against the perpetrators, assuring that they would be dealt with “iron hands.”
Earlier, Naqvi attended the funeral prayers for the martyred policemen at Police Lines Rahim Yar Khan, where he paid tribute to their sacrifice.
He also visited injured police personnel at Sheikh Zayed Hospital, where he inquired about their well-being and instructed the hospital authorities to provide the best possible treatment.
Naqvi announced that the martyred police personnel would be posthumously awarded the Shujaat medal. He warned the attackers of a “terrible and bad end,” calling the incident a “big tragedy for Pakistan” and reaffirming the federal government’s ongoing support.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Inspector General of Police Punjab, DG Rangers Punjab, and Secretary Interior Punjab.
