Ishaq Dar Emphasizes Education’s Role in National Prosperity

ISLAMABAD, Sept 02 (Alliance News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday underscored the crucial role of education in fostering a prosperous society and called for increased efforts and investments in this sector to ensure a brighter future for upcoming generations.

Speaking at the certificate-awarding ceremony of the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA), Dar praised the government’s commitment to education. He noted that the current fiscal budget includes substantial allocations for the education sector, highlighting its importance for the country’s long-term development.

“Education is not just a fundamental right but also a vital ingredient for a thriving society,” Dar said. He stressed that significant investments in education are essential for the nation’s progress and for reaping future benefits.

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized the value Islam places on education, reflecting its foundational role in personal and societal growth.

Dar urged other organizations and institutions engaged in humanitarian efforts to focus on addressing financial, health, and educational challenges faced by communities. He commended PFOWA for its exemplary work in these areas, noting its efforts to support students pursuing advanced degrees through scholarships and financial aid.

“The contributions of PFOWA are truly commendable,” Dar remarked. “The Association’s support extends to providing educational materials, scholarships, and financial assistance to widows and minorities, as well as aiding communities affected by natural disasters.”

He expressed his pleasure at the philanthropic spirit within the ministry, likening it to a family committed to serving others.

Dar also highlighted his personal initiatives, including the founding of two organizations in 2020 dedicated to supporting orphans. One of these organizations focuses on providing education for approximately 100 children, while the other supports educational and health-related needs.

“This commitment to supporting the underprivileged is both a kind gesture and a meaningful service to humanity,” Dar said, emphasizing the rewards such efforts bring in both this world and the hereafter.
