Justice Yahya Afridi Appointed as Chief Justice of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (Alliance News): President Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Justice Yahya Afridi, a Supreme Court judge, as the next Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The appointment will take effect on October 26, 2024, for a term of three years, according to a press release from the President House.

Justice Yahya Afridi’s appointment was made under the authority of Articles 175 A (3), 177, and 179 of the Constitution of Pakistan.

President Zardari has also confirmed October 26 as the date for administering the oath of office to Justice Afridi as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan.
