ISLAMABAD, Oct 8(Alliance News): Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, emphasized the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the next 35 years, warning that it could render a billion people irrelevant.
Addressing the opening ceremony of ‘Space Week 2024’ at Islamabad Model College for Girls, he highlighted AI’s global significance and Pakistan’s need to catch up.
Dr. Siddiqui noted Pakistan’s challenge of a large youth population, with 15 to 18 million young people, and reiterated the government’s efforts to create employment opportunities through skills development.
He also stressed that sending youth abroad for education is not a “brain drain” but a “brain train,” and encouraged educational authorities to align curricula with international standards.
