Lieutenant General Asim Malik Appointed New ISI Chief

ISLAMABAD, Sept 23 (Alliance News): Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as the new Director General of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), succeeding Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum. He is set to take on his new role on September 30.

Currently serving as the Adjutant General at GHQ, General Malik has previously commanded the Infantry Division in Balochistan and the Infantry Brigade in Waziristan. He is a distinguished officer, having received the Sword of Honor during his training.

His notable experience includes serving as Chief Instructor at the National Defence University (NDU) and as an instructor at the Command and Staff College in Quetta.

General Malik is also a graduate of Fort Leavenworth and the Royal College of Defence Studies, and he has served in the Military Operations Directorate prior to his current assignment.
