RAWALPINDI, Oct 4 (Alliance News): Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during his meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters, commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and sacrifices in maintaining regional peace and combating terrorism.
According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release, the discussions between the two leaders focused on bilateral strategic interests, regional security, and defence cooperation.
Prime Minister Ibrahim stressed the importance of enhancing military ties between the two brotherly nations and extended an invitation to the COAS to visit Malaysia.
General Munir expressed gratitude for the invitation and appreciated the Malaysian Prime Minister’s successful visit to Pakistan, which he said would further strengthen the historic relations between the two countries and their armed forces.
The COAS also attended the investiture ceremony and state banquet in honor of the Malaysian Prime Minister at the Presidency.
