ISLAMABAD, Dec 6 (Alliance News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday announced a revised timeline for the completion of the Serena Chowk Interchange project, reducing the duration from 10 months to just 3 months.
During a visit to the construction site, Naqvi reviewed the ongoing work and directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to expedite the project. He emphasized the importance of completing the project within the stipulated time frame through 24/7 construction efforts.
The minister highlighted that the completion of this mega project would alleviate traffic congestion in Islamabad and facilitate visitors from other cities. Under the project, two underpasses and connecting roads are being built to enhance the capital’s transportation infrastructure.
Naqvi stated that he is personally monitoring the progress and instructed the authorities to strictly implement an alternative traffic plan during the construction period to maintain smooth traffic flow.
He assured that the project would bring long-term benefits to commuters and underscored the need for efficient management to achieve timely results.
The minister received a comprehensive briefing on the project’s development. Senior officials, including the Chairman of CDA and the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, were also present during the visit.
