Normalcy Returns to Islamabad After Large-Scale Operation Against Protesters

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27 (Alliance News): Life in Islamabad is gradually returning to normal following a large-scale operation to clear protest sites, with businesses resuming operations and educational institutions set to reopen on Thursday.

The district administration has begun extensive cleanup efforts, removing containers and clearing blockades from key roads, including the Red Zone.

According to an official, roads previously inaccessible due to protests are now open to the public.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Memon, has instructed assistant commissioners to expedite the clearing of roads in their jurisdictions and ensure they are fully operational by morning.

He emphasized the importance of utilizing all available resources to restore order swiftly. The cleanup effort also includes ensuring cleanliness and safety on major highways across the city.

Simultaneously, the clearance of Murree Road, which had been sealed for three days due to the protests, is ongoing.

Following the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decision to call off its protests, all motorways, including M-2, M-11, M-4, M-14, and M-3, have been reopened for traffic, restoring routes between major cities like Islamabad, Lahore, and Sialkot.

The administration remains committed to completing road clearance and ensuring the public can resume normal activities without further disruption.
