ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (Alliance News): Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy discussed enhancing Pak-UK relations, with a focus on the contributions of British Pakistanis and planning for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October.
During a phone call, Deputy Prime Minister Dar congratulated Lammy on his new role as Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom. Dar expressed optimism about the new UK government’s commitment to continuing positive momentum in Pakistan-UK relations.
Both ministers acknowledged the valuable contributions of British Pakistanis in strengthening ties between the two nations. Dar emphasized the importance of Pak-UK relations, especially within the Commonwealth context, and expressed readiness to collaborate on climate change, youth opportunities, and trade and investment.
The ministers committed to enhancing bilateral cooperation and remaining actively engaged in the lead-up to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October.
