Pakistan and China Explore Healthcare and Skill Development Partnership

ISLAMABAD, Dec 03 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, met with a Chinese delegation led by Ms. Scarlet, head of OPH Healthcare project, to discuss collaborative opportunities in healthcare and skill development.

The meeting focused on a proposal from GAREA Group, a leader in integrated digital solutions for primary healthcare.

The project aims to enhance healthcare access in remote areas by leveraging AI-based cloud computing for cost-effective and accurate diagnoses.

A key component is the portable diagnostic machine that can detect 7-8 diseases, reducing transportation costs and improving accessibility.

The digital platform will streamline communication between patients, doctors, and medical stores, facilitating direct medication delivery.

The project has already proven successful in Indonesia, where it increased the daily patient check-up rate from 8 to 37, boosting doctors’ incomes.

Minister Salik Hussain expressed strong support for the initiative, emphasizing the government’s dedication to equipping individuals with advanced skills to meet global labor market demands.

The delegation also introduced Huawei’s certification courses: the 2-week HCIA, 1-month HCIP, and 6-month HCIE programs.

The Minister recognized this initiative as a significant investment from China’s Ministry of Education and reiterated the government’s focus on skill development as a key driver of economic growth.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to formalize the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between OPH and the Ministry of Health.

This agreement will guide coordinated efforts to advance skill development and healthcare, aligning both ministries with shared objectives.

The Minister reaffirmed that such collaborations are vital for enhancing Pakistanis’ skills and boosting their competitiveness in the global market.
