ISLAMABAD, Sep 13 (Alliance News): Pakistan on Thursday strongly condemned Israeli airstrikes on the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone in Khan Yunis, Gaza, which occurred on September 10, 2024, killing 40 civilians.
The airstrikes targeted an area designated as a safe zone for displaced persons, which Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, described as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
Baloch called the act a gross breach of protections afforded to civilian populations and urged the UN Security Council to hold Israeli forces accountable for their actions.
In her weekly briefing, Baloch also condemned the recent decision by India’s Delhi High Court to uphold the ban on several political parties advocating for the rights of Kashmiris under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Pakistan expressed concerns over India’s continued efforts to suppress political voices in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Additionally, Baloch highlighted Pakistan’s hosting of the 23rd meeting of Ministers for Foreign Economic and Foreign Trade Activity of SCO Member States and the arrival of International Maritime Organization (IMO) Secretary General Arsenio Antonio Dominguez Velasco for a three-day visit to Pakistan.
