ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (Alliance News): Pakistan generated US $111.313 million from providing various travel services abroad during the first two months of fiscal year 2024-25, marking a 4.99% increase compared to the US $106.020 million earned in the same period of the previous fiscal year 2023-24, according to a report by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Personal travel services saw a rise of 4.82%, growing from US $104.380 million last year to US $109.411 million in the July-August 2024-25 period.
Within this category, exports related to health expenditures increased by 4.82%, while education-related services saw a notable surge of 61.37%. Additionally, other personal services recorded a modest growth of 2.34%.
Business travel services also experienced significant growth, expanding by 16%, from US $1.640 million to US $1.902 million during the same period, according to the PBS data.
It is also important to note that Pakistan’s overall services exports for July-August 2024-25 reached US $1.252 billion, slightly up by 0.13% from US $1.250 billion in the same period last year.
On the other hand, the country’s imports during these months decreased by 0.45%, dropping from US $1.732 billion last year to US $1.724 billion.
