Pakistan, Hungary to Boost Ties and Combat Illegal Immigration

ISLAMABAD, Nov 14 (Alliance News) – Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Hungarian Interior Minister Sándor Pintér in Budapest on Thursday to discuss enhancing cooperation on issues of mutual interest, including immigration control and human trafficking.

Naqvi expressed appreciation for Hungary’s hospitality during the 7th Ministerial Conference of the Budapest Process.

In honor of 60 years of diplomatic relations, the two sides agreed to celebrate this milestone in 2025.

Naqvi extended an invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the Hungarian Prime Minister to visit Pakistan and invited Minister Pintér to visit Pakistan as well, which he accepted.

As part of the meeting, the two countries agreed to establish a hotline for direct communication to address immigration and other bilateral issues.

Hungary will also send a high-level delegation to Pakistan to aid in tackling illegal immigration and human trafficking and to collaborate on NADRA’s CRMS system.

A report from this delegation will set the groundwork for enhanced cooperation between both countries.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister is also expected to visit Pakistan in December, a visit welcomed by Minister Naqvi, who emphasized the importance of these exchanges for strengthening Pakistan-Hungary relations.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Hungary Asif Hussain Memon and senior officials attended the meeting.
