ISLAMABAD, Nov 5 (Alliance News): Pakistan and Iran jointly condemned Israel’s ongoing military aggression and civilian atrocities in the Middle East, questioning the global community’s lack of response to the violations of international laws and the UN Charter.
Following their meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a press stakeout, expressing solidarity with Palestinians and calling for accountability for Israel’s actions in occupied territories.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire, de-escalation, and constructive dialogue to uphold Palestinians’ right to self-determination.
Dar also reiterated Pakistan’s stance for a viable Palestinian state along pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, condemning the conflation of self-determination with terrorism by occupying forces.
Both leaders discussed strengthening ties across trade, energy, and border security and agreed to coordinate against terrorism and extremism to ensure regional stability.
Dar also expressed gratitude for Iran’s support of Pakistan’s BRICS membership bid and pledged further cooperation in mutual areas of interest.
Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi decried Israel’s “genocidal actions” in Gaza and aggression in Lebanon, asserting Iran’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
He praised Pakistan’s firm stance in condemning Israel’s actions and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s solidarity with Palestinians and Gaza.
The foreign ministers reiterated a shared commitment to bolstering bilateral cooperation in various sectors and addressing terrorism collaboratively.
Araghchi also invited Dar to an upcoming ECO ministerial meeting in Tehran, underlining Iran’s dedication to fostering regional cooperation.
