ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (Alliance News): Pakistan is marking the fifth anniversary of India’s actions on August 5, 2019, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by observing ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ (Day of Exploitation) on Monday.
Pakistan’s president, prime minister, and deputy prime minister and foreign minister have reiterated the country’s strong diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmir cause in their special messages.
The deputy prime minister and foreign minister has sent letters to the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, highlighting the severe consequences of India’s actions since August 5, 2019.
In these letters, the foreign minister urged the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions to allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir to decide their future. Ahead of ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’, the foreign secretary briefed Islamabad-based diplomatic missions on the situation in IIOJK on August 2, 2023. The briefing covered aspects of international law, peace and security, and human rights.
A special ‘Walk’ was held this morning in Islamabad along Constitution Avenue to the Parliament Building to show solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK. The deputy prime minister and foreign minister, and the minister for Kashmir affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, were honored guests at the event.
Various activities are being organized across the country to observe ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’. Pakistani and Kashmiri Diaspora, along with Pakistan’s diplomatic missions worldwide, are arranging special events to raise global awareness about the plight of the Kashmiri people.
