Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Palestine at UNHRC, Calls for End to Israeli Occupation

ISLAMABAD, Oct 4 (Alliance News): Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast stance on Palestine, urging an immediate end to Israel’s illegal occupation and calling on the international community to uphold Palestinian rights during a United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) debate on Thursday.

Speaking at the UNHRC debate on human rights in occupied Palestine, Foreign Secretary Baloch stressed the urgent need to uphold international law, particularly in light of growing threats to regional peace, security, and the credibility of the global system.

She highlighted that all human rights stem from the fundamental right to self-determination, as outlined in the UN Charter and international human rights law.

“Israel’s aggression and settler-colonialism in Palestine can no longer be met with impunity,” Baloch emphasized, calling for an end to the illegal occupation and the realization of Palestinian self-determination to prevent further genocide and apartheid.

She reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for a viable, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
