LAHORE, Aug 5 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Industries & Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people on Monday, condemning India’s revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status as a serious violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.
He made these remarks in an exclusive interview with APP on the occasion of “Youm-e-Istehsal” (Day of Exploitation), observed in Pakistan against India’s actions on August 5, 2019.
Rana Tanveer Hussain praised the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination, highlighting that India’s unilateral and illegal actions contravene multiple UN Security Council resolutions. These resolutions call for a free, impartial, and UN-supervised referendum to determine Jammu and Kashmir’s future in line with the wishes of its people.
Hussain emphasized the grave implications of India’s oppressive actions in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, noting that these violations of international law threaten peace and stability in South Asia. He stressed that resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute according to UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people is essential for sustainable regional peace.
The minister paid tribute to the martyrs of occupied Kashmir for their enduring sacrifices and praised their families for their resilience and courage. He assured that Pakistan will continue to advocate for the rights of its Kashmiri brothers and sisters and provide all possible support in their pursuit of legitimate rights.
