ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture Attaullah Tarar on Thursday inaugurated the “Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Museum” at the Radio Pakistan Headquarters, commending Turkiye for its vital contribution to preserving Pakistan’s historical legacy.
Calling the museum an important milestone, Tarar emphasized the significance of Radio Pakistan in safeguarding the country’s rich heritage.
He noted that the museum symbolizes the enduring ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, educating future generations about the shared history and collaboration between the two nations.
Tarar reflected on the deep-rooted bond between Pakistan and Turkiye, tracing it back to the Khilafat Movement when Muslims of the subcontinent expressed solidarity with their Turkish counterparts. He called for further strengthening these ties through expanded cooperation across various fields.
Highlighting Radio Pakistan’s critical role in promoting education, art, culture, and national resilience, especially during wartime and natural disasters, Tarar lauded its contributions.
He encouraged efforts to enhance the organization’s digital footprint and ensure its continued growth.
Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, acknowledged the enduring brotherly relations between the two nations.
He praised TIKA’s efforts in preserving Pakistan’s historical archives, noting that the organization has completed over 700 development projects in Pakistan in the last 14 years.
The event, attended by Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ambreen Jan, Director General of Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Shaikh, and other senior officials, underscored the commitment to fostering deeper cultural and historical ties between the two nations.
