DUBAI, Jan 14 (Alliance News): A delegation of 87 Pakistani students from various institutions participated in the Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) Dubai 2025, held from January 11 to 13 at Le Meridien Hotel & Conference Center.
The event, organized by Harvard University’s International Relations Council (IRC) and WorldView Education, brought together over 1,000 students from 73 institutions across 48 countries.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, and Consul General Hussain Muhammad encouraged and supported the Pakistani students during the event. Ambassador Tirmizi visited the venue, engaging with delegates from Pakistan and other countries, emphasizing the role of education and soft diplomacy in shaping Pakistan’s future.
He urged the students to drive positive change while representing values of innovation and inclusivity.
The C.A.S. School delegation, led by Umer Sharfuddin, called on Consul General Hussain Muhammad, who hosted them for lunch at the Pakistan Consulate.
The students received a briefing on the consulate’s role in representing Pakistan’s interests in the UAE, reinforcing the importance of empowering youth through such global platforms.
Students from C.A.S. School Karachi, Learning Alliance Lahore, Cadet College Hassan Abdal, Lahore Grammar School, and Roots International participated in the conference. Pakistani delegates excelled by winning awards in the largest debate committees and clinched the “Best Small Delegation Award.”
