PM Shehbaz Highlights Economic Progress at World Governments Summit

DUBAI, Feb 11 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized Pakistan’s economic achievements, stating that the country stands at a “defining moment of economic transformation.”

Speaking at the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai, he highlighted key economic indicators, noting that headline inflation had dropped to 2.4% in January—the lowest in nine years—while the interest rate was capped at 12%, providing a boost to private sector credit.

Shehbaz Sharif outlined the government’s National Economic Transformation Plan, Uraan Pakistan, which focuses on five key pillars: exports, e-Pakistan, environment and climate change, energy and infrastructure, and equity and empowerment.

He reiterated that economic stability is a means to an end, not the final goal, and underscored the government’s commitment to long-term growth.
