PM Shehbaz, OIC Chief Discuss Kashmir, Palestine, and Girls’ Education

ISLAMABAD, Jan 12 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) unwavering support for resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with UN and OIC resolutions.

During a meeting with OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha at the Prime Minister’s House on Friday, Shehbaz praised the Secretary General’s participation in the International Conference on Girls’ Education in Muslim Communities, scheduled for January 11-12 in Islamabad.

He highlighted the initiative’s importance in promoting quality education and empowering women in the Muslim world.

The Prime Minister appreciated the OIC’s dynamic leadership and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing the organization’s shared objectives.

He also condemned Israel’s military campaign in Gaza and called for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian aid, and holding Israel accountable for alleged war crimes.

The OIC Secretary General expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s hospitality and commended its leadership role in addressing critical issues for the Muslim Ummah.

He assured OIC’s continued support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and emphasized pressing for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

The two leaders agreed that resolving the Palestinian issue through a two-state solution is crucial for long-term peace and stability.

They also discussed regional and global concerns, including Afghanistan and the rise of Islamophobia. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatimi also attended the meeting.
